GPI Statement on Denny Sanford’s UC San Diego Stem Cell Donation
Genetics Policy Institute (GPI) Executive Director and founder of the World Stem Cell Summit released a statement today regarding Denny Sanford’s major gift to stem cell research at UC San Diego.
“Denny Sanford’s commitment to supporting the potential of stem cell research is long established. However, today’s announcement of a $100 million donation to UC San Diego to accelerate human stem cell research is extraordinary. We are thrilled and honored that Mr.Sanford is an integral part of this year’s World Stem Cell Summit in San Diego. Mr. Sanford is serving as a speaker in the highly anticipated Strategic Philanthropy In The Life Sciences panel and honoree at the Stem Cell Action Awards. We look forward to discussing this development with Mr. Sanford at the Summit,” Bernard Siegel stated.
