The New Age of Regenerative Medicine: Are Stem Cells the Future of Healing?

Nov 11, 2014

Frost & Sullivan explores the emerging potential of the controversial multi-billion dollar stem cell and regenerative medicine industries at the 2014 World Stem Cell Summit

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA – November 11, 2014 – Frost & Sullivan is participating in a panel entitled “Regenerative Medicine & Cell Therapy – Multi-Billion Industries with Unlimited Potential” at the 2014 World Stem Cell Summit at the Marriott Rivercenter San Antonio, Texas from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. CST on Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2014.

The three panelists are Jane C. Andrews, Ph.D., Frost & Sullivan; Gregory A. Bonfiglio, Proteus Venture Partners and Chris Mason, MBBS, Ph.D., FRCS, University College London.

Multi-billion dollar companies and small start-ups alike are investing their dollars in the emerging multi-billion dollar regenerative medicine market.  There are more clinical trials utilizing stem cells than ever before, especially in the areas of nerve regeneration, cancer treatment, drug therapy and diabetes.  The industry is young, expanding rapidly and will take us into a new age of medicine.

This panel will discuss the leading industry trends, highlight current successes and discuss the future of stem cell regenerative medicine. It will also feature presentations on the global capital market and the scientific underpinnings of this cutting-edge and transformative field.

“When it comes to discovering what stem cells can do, we’re currently only at the tip of the iceberg,” said Frost & Sullivan Healthcare & Life Sciences Senior Consultant Jane Andrews. “It is astounding what new research is proving and the interest it is generating. So much so in fact, I believe we’re entering a new age of medicine where regeneration of cells and tissues will become routine.”

“With the convergence of innovative technologies, the regenerative medicine industry is entering a phase of explosive growth,” said World Stem Cell Summit Founder and Genetics Policy Institute Executive Director Bernard Siegel. “The era of treating formerly incurable medical conditions with stem cell therapies and the use of cells to advance new drug discovery represents the future of medicine. It will impact humanity profoundly. What the Industrial Revolution was to the 19th Century the “Regenerative Medicine Revolution” will be to our 21st Century.”

“The Frost & Sullivan panel at the RegMed Capital Conference is the foundational session of the meeting. It will provide context to all stakeholders for understanding the magnitude of the financial opportunities at the acceleration nexus point of this burgeoning field.”
