Novak Druce + Quigg LLP Speaks on Intellectual Property Law in Regenerative Medicine at the World Stem Cell Summit

This morning, Novak Druce + Quigg LLP Partner Nicholas Zachariades Ph.D. spoke on “The Shifting Landscape of Intellectual Property Law and Its Impact on the Future of Regenerative Medicine” at the Genetics Policy Institute’s World Stem Cell Summit in Detroit.

During the discussion, Dr. Zachariades explored issues specific to stem cell research, including the ways in which social considerations impact legal issues in stem cell patenting and the reexaminations of the Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation (WARF) stem cell patents. Dr. Zachariades also discussed how to initiate a patent reexamination, the impacts of reexamination on litigation and the importance of a well-executed patent application.
