Leah Ke‘ala‘aumoe Dowsett, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the John A. Burns School of Medicine at the University of Hawai‘i and a clinical geneticist at Hawai‘i Community Genetics.  She is a Fellow of the American Board of Pediatrics and the American Board of Medical Genetics & Genomics, and is proud to serve on the board of ‘Ahahui o nā Kauka (the Association of Native Hawaiian Physicians).  She also has the privilege of being a part of her hospital’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion committee.  Her clinical focus includes general genetics, dysmorphology, and inborn errors of metabolism.  Her primary research focuses on improving genomic health disparities in underrepresented minority populations, Native Hawaiian health, and expanding the availability of genomic sequencing and phenotypic information to her patients and families.
